
The Harnett County Sheriff's Office is comprised of nearly 100 sworn Law Enforcement Officers. Many of these Deputies are assigned to responsibilities performed by the Patrol Division. These duties include:
- Road Patrol
- K-9 Units
- Civil and Criminal Process
- School Resources
- Crime Prevention and D.A.R.E.
- Courthouse Security
- Prisoner Transportation
Harnett County Sheriff's Office Patrol Squads include a Sergeant, Corporal, 4 Deputies, and 1 K-9 Unit. The primary responsibility for these squads is to respond to incoming 911 calls. They are frequently assisted by members of the Civil / Criminal Process Squad. The county is divided into 6 Patrol Zones:
- Lillington
- Broadway / Mamers
- Fuquay-Varina / Angier
- Spring Lake / Overhills
- Dunn / Erwin
- Sanford / Cameron
Officers dedicated to Traffic Enforcement will soon begin patrolling Harnett County roadways thanks to a grant received from The Governor's Highway Safety Program.
